Water Conservation Code Revision Process

The regional drought has created significant challenges for Austin Water and the residents of Austin. To better respond to the effects of long-term drought, Austin Water has begun a process to revise the current Water Conservation Code.  The goal is to balance the need to conserve our water supply and the desire to sustain our local economy and the natural surroundings so unique to Austin.

Austin Water encourages the public, organizations, and businesses to take part in this process.  Attend workshops to discuss how the City should regulate water use in times of drought and review specific restrictions, including the watering schedule and limits on car washing. If you cannot attend a meeting, you can still take part in the process by clicking here or sending an email to Watercon. 

Next Meeting Date: To be announced. Meetings are from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in Room 104 of Austin Water’s Waller Creek Center located at 625 E. 10th Street
